The commissioner said the town standard listing "class 200" pipe is outdated and suggested the town’s standard is causing leaks; another participant observed developers are installing C900 and that the code needs to be updated. One commissioner recommended engineering review, saying the town’s soils and mountain conditions warrant deeper burial (a commenter suggested at least 6 feet for water mains in local soils).
Staff and commissioners agreed to involve the town engineer and the attorney to revise ordinance language and standards. The chair said the code contains “old language” and directed that the subdivision application and checklist be reworked with engineer input.
