The superintendent presented a proposed district strategic plan at the May 14 board meeting and said the document will be posted for a month-long public review before the board considers a recommendation in June.
"Mission: every student will have equitable access to engaging learning that transforms life outcomes," the superintendent said, summarizing the plan’s mission and vision statements and the district’s focus on equitable access, continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
The superintendent described the plan as an evolution rather than a radical rewrite: the mission and vision remain consistent while the document captures priorities and a framework that has been developed with input from teacher, staff, faith, business and community advisory groups. He said the plan is intended to be a "living, breathing" document subject to ongoing revisions and implementation steps that will be spelled out if the board moves forward.
Board members did not vote on the plan at the meeting; staff said the plan will be posted for community feedback during a month-long review and a recommendation will be offered to the board in June.
