Mercer County approves three zoning changes and two temporary-use permits

Tax Director and Land Use Administrator Jennifer Neumiller presented a slate of zoning and permit items on April 15, 2026. The commission approved Zoning Case 26-03-01 (Chris Santos) to amend a parcel from Agricultural to Commercial in Parcel 2A (a portion of Parcel 2 within the NW4NW4 of Section 17 T144N R85W). The commission also approved Zoning Case 26-04-01 (Warren & Jodie Woroniecki) and Zoning Case 26-04-02 (Kris & Nicole Martens) to permit non-farm residences on identified parcels; motions carried with all commissioners voting aye.
The board granted Temporary Use Permit #671 to Fisher Sand & Gravel for a 20-acre gravel pit in the SW4 of Section 8, T145N, R89W and Temporary Use Permit #672 for a 20-acre gravel pit in a fraction of the N2 of Section 7, T145N, R88W. Commissioners recorded motions to approve both permits; both motions passed unanimously.
Commissioner Casey Voigt moved to approve the zoning cases and permits as presented; Commissioner Jamee Folk seconded several of the motions noted in the minutes. The minutes do not record public opposition or conditions attached to the approvals.
These approvals change the zoning status of specific parcels and authorize temporary gravel operations at two locations; the minutes list parcel legal descriptions for the county record.
