Planning board tables 7 Brew drive-through at 1593 Walden pending DOT review

Anthony Pandolfi of Carmina Wood Design presented a site plan for a drive-through-only 7 Brew at 1593 Walden Avenue and Pepe Place. He told the board the proposal includes two drive-through lanes, 35 on-site stacking spaces and removal of an existing curb cut on Walden Avenue.

Pandolfi said the applicant expects initial peak queues of roughly 14–15 cars, but cautioned first months could be busier while the business establishes itself. "Typically, the peak queue they see is around 14, 15 cars," Pandolfi said. He and the board discussed a traffic-management plan and the possibility of on-site employees directing queuing traffic if necessary.

Planning staff told the board that the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning had submitted comments raising concerns about queuing that could spill onto local roadways. The project has been referred to the DOT and to the town’s traffic safety commission for review; staff said DOT comments had not yet been received.

Several board members asked to wait for DOT and county comments before acting. One member moved to table the application until DOT comments are available; another board member seconded. The motion to table passed.

The board did not make a decision on the project’s merits; it asked staff to collect DOT and traffic-safety commission feedback and return the item for further review.
