Buffalo County proclaims National Police Week and EMS Week, ratifies payroll and acknowledges routine reports

At its May 12 meeting the Buffalo County Board adopted proclamations for National Police Week (May 10–16) and Emergency Medical Services Week (May 17–23), ratified May 1 payroll, and acknowledged several routine county financial and administrative reports.
The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on May 12 proclaimed May 10–16, 2026 as National Police Week and May 17–23, 2026 as Emergency Medical Services Week. Commissioner Daniel Lynch read the police‑week proclamation into the record; Commissioner Bill Maendele read the EMS proclamation. Both proclamations were adopted by roll call vote (Resolutions 2026‑18 and 2026‑19).
The board also ratified payroll claims processed May 1, 2026; the minutes list the General Fund net payroll as $391,646.05 and the Road Fund net payroll as $69,234.75. In addition, the board acknowledged the County Clerk’s April 2026 journal entries, the Clerk of the District Court April report, the Buffalo County Treasurer April fund balance report, and the City of Ravenna’s 2025 Tax Increment Financing report by separate motions and roll call votes.
Volunteer members of local fire and EMS departments attended the EMS proclamation portion of the meeting. No public speakers addressed the board during the citizen forum. Chairperson Sherry Morrow adjourned the meeting at 10:19 A.M.
