The commission attributed the 9.5% net increase primarily to two items: a conservative, earmarked increase in the salary line to reflect ongoing negotiations with employee groups, and the cost of a classification and compensation job-study for which a facilitator contract has already been approved. Dr. Jensen said other changes in the proposal reflect data-driven corrections to travel, district memberships and software licensing and are not new structural spending.
Commissioners raised no substantive questions during the presentation. The chair called for a motion; the commission moved, seconded and approved the budget by voice vote, reported as 3—.
