Lapeer introduces new high school principal; he praises staff and community

The superintendent introduced Dr. Jason Marson as the new Lapeer High School principal and invited him to address the board. "I'm just so thankful, grateful and blessed to be with you today and to be working for the schools and working for the people over here," Marson said, thanking board members and the central office leadership team.
The superintendent said Marson joins the district after previous leadership roles in area schools, and the board welcomed him with applause. Marson told the board he has been meeting staff, learning district processes and already "hit the ground running," and said he looked forward to "building on what we've already made here."
Board members and staff applauded the introduction. The superintendent noted that the district had said goodbye in July to the prior principal, who had served for 10 years. The introduction concluded and the meeting moved on to board communications about athletics and upcoming events.
