Lewisville City Council certifies May 2 election results and administers oath to newly elected Place 3 member

Jennifer Malone, the city secretary, presented the official returns. For Council Member Place 1 Malone reported Grama Ali received 1,319 votes (40.35 percent), Brent Kuykendall received 1,787 votes (54.67 percent) and Zimong Walson received 163 votes (4.99 percent), for a total of 3,269 votes; Malone announced Brent Kuykendahl as the winner for Place 1. For Place 3 Malone reported Adrienne Dokko 749 votes (23.15 percent), Ronnie Cade 2,062 votes (63.74 percent) and Tiffany Kareem 424 votes (13.11 percent), total 3,235 votes; Malone announced Ronnie Cade as the winner for Place 3.
The mayor asked for a motion to adopt a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results as provided by the city secretary. A council member moved to approve the resolution as presented, the mayor seconded, and the council approved the measure on a recorded voice vote of 5-0.
A judge administered the oath of office to the newly elected Place 3 council member, reciting the standard oath and asking the sworn individual to repeat it. Following the oath the judge and the sworn person signed the certificate and the judge offered congratulations. The newly sworn council member thanked supporters, saying, "I wanna tell everybody out there thank you for your support and believing in me. And we have a lot of stuff that still needs to get done, so let's get on with it." The mayor said the Place 1 certificate and oath will be presented at the May 18, 2026 council meeting to satisfy qualification requirements.
The mayor opened the visitors forum, outlined speaking rules and noted that, under the Texas Meetings Act, the council is limited from discussing or acting on items not on the posted agenda. No members of the public requested time to speak. With no further action, the mayor adjourned the meeting.
