Chickasaw County 911 Service Board approves $142,560 Motorola payment, schedules Feb. 11 budget hearing

The Chickasaw County 911 Service Board approved several routine administrative items at its Jan. 14, 2026 meeting in New Hampton, including a $142,560.37 payment to Motorola and a $12,797.63 payment for property insurance on LMR tower sites.
Board member Steve Geerts moved to approve the meeting agenda; Bert Oster seconded, and the board voted unanimous voice approval. The board then approved the minutes from the May 25, 2025 meeting on a motion by Bad Moudry, seconded by Bert Oster, with all voting in favor.
Randy Taylor moved, and Steve Geerts seconded, to approve payment of $142,560.37 to Motorola for work related to the 911 system; the motion carried on a unanimous vote. Taylor also moved, seconded by Geerts, to approve payment of $12,797.63 to Chickasaw County for property insurance covering LMR tower sites; that motion likewise carried unanimously.
Board member Jimmy Mitchell moved, and Steve Geerts seconded, to approve the proposed budget for publication. The board took a roll-call vote: Mitchell, Taylor, Shawver, Oster, Tenge, Carter, Geerts and Moudry all voted "Aye." The board then set a public hearing on the proposed budget for Feb. 11, 2026 at 5:45 p.m. at the Community Service Building on a motion by Mitchell, seconded by Geerts; the motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 19:04 on a motion by Mitchell, seconded by Geerts.
