Trustees proposed and agreed to minor textual edits (removing the phrase "board approved" from one paragraph and inserting the word "ongoing" in two places); the motion with edits passed 5-0.
- Governance handbook and annual calendar: Trustees discussed edits to clarify roles and to rephrase an item to "avoid surprising staff" (to respect Brown Act constraints while encouraging respectful coordination). The board adopted the governance handbook and annual governance calendar with the discussed changes.

Next steps and context
Staff said the district will post the LCAP materials and submit the LCAP to county offices and will provide school-level dashboard breakdowns requested by trustees. The HVAC evaluation for Bernardo Heights will return with recommendations in time for the August meeting; staff will also follow up on questions raised during public comment regarding vendor contracts and curriculum transparency.
