Carrie Carpenter, a TK teacher at Madison Elementary, said she has worked in Redondo Beach Unified for about 20 years and praised the district for supporting staff and building strong teams.
"What I love about my job is that I get to work with kids every day and see those moments where something really clicks and then they're so proud of themselves," Carpenter said, describing the classroom experiences that keep her in teaching.
Carpenter told meeting attendees that the district "seems to...care about its employees" and that strong organization and teamwork at her school and across teams contributed to her decision to remain in the district. "RBUSD just seemed like where I belong and I've stayed for 20 years," she added.
She closed with brief personal remarks about life outside the classroom, saying she enjoys spending time with family and outdoor activities including camping, boating, off-roading and motorcycle riding.
The recording transitions to background music at the end of her remarks.
