At its April 8 meeting the Burns Harbor Town Council adopted two financial resolutions affecting donation and capital funds and approved budget transfers recommended by staff.
Clerk/Treasurer read Resolution 2026‑05, which authorizes additional appropriations to several donation and capital accounts (park donation restricted non‑capital $7,228.53; police donation restricted capital $5,281.25; fire donation restricted capital $5,662.54; park donation restricted capital $4,819.69; park non‑reverting operations $10,000). The council voted to adopt the resolution; roll call showed Council Mard recorded an abstention while other members voted yes.
The council then considered Resolution 2026‑06, authorizing transfers within MVH and building funds (for example, MVH transfers between equipment and equipment repairs). The resolution passed by roll call vote with all present council members voting yes.
Clerk also briefed the council on Baker Tilly’s proposals for a fiscal sustainability plan and asked members to review materials ahead of the next meeting; staff indicated they will schedule follow‑up meetings with Baker Tilly as needed.
Next steps: staff will process the transfers and appropriations as approved and respond to any departmental requests for use of the donated funds in accordance with town code.
