"We have a little over $4,000 as seed money appropriated for Lincoln Heights Days, and we submitted a grant application to Hamilton County for $25,000," the chair said. Council members emphasized the need to vet donations and create official channels so residents and businesses can contribute legitimately, rather than relying on ad-hoc crowdfunding that may create confusion.
Council asked staff to create sponsorship guidance and to convene an ad-hoc volunteer planning group of residents and business owners to support event planning, marketing and volunteer coordination. The finance director said finalized grant award notifications are expected within a few weeks and that any award would be brought to council as legislation to accept the funds.
