Hundreds of youth registered as seasons near; board flags soggy fields, trash and volunteer needs

Kyle, representing FSK Soccer, said, “so far this season... we have 441 registered players,” reporting one senior elite team, 10 Ursil teams, 19 in‑house teams and two clinic groups; the elite team has started practices and opening day is April 11. He and others warned that Memorial Park fields remain soggy (one goal reportedly in six inches of standing water) and called attention to a remaining five‑foot snow pile that slows field readiness.
Tisha Tracy Miller reported baseball registration closed with 190 players across travel, Babe Ruth, 12U/10U/8U and multiple T‑ball teams; baseball season also begins April 11, with a senior night scheduled in late April (date to be confirmed). Jenny Meyers reported nine lacrosse teams that will use Memorial Park and FSK High School beginning the weekend of March 14; lacrosse organizers plan to use food trucks and run a cooler raffle for fundraising.
Board members and staff discussed short-term operational items: public works will redistribute trash barrels removed during winter, additional porta‑johns are scheduled for Robert’s Mill and Memorial Park, and a field-maintenance weekend is planned to prepare fields for play. Staff encouraged leagues to send schedules early to avoid conflicts with pavilion rentals and other events.
On community events, the March 28 Easter egg hunt needs volunteers for hiding eggs, working tables and handing out donated game passes and raffle prizes; McKenzie will lead the event as staff (Lena) recovers from upcoming surgery.
During the meeting the board approved the minutes from January 14, 2026 by voice vote.
