The Travis Unified School District board announced two personnel appointments reported out of closed session.
Nick Janti was appointed to serve as assistant superintendent of Educational Services, effective July 1, 2024. Board members provided an oral summary of the financial terms of the proposed employment agreement and said the board will consider and vote on the employment agreement at a regular meeting prior to taking final action. The district summarized the contract length as two years, from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026, and indicated that the assistant superintendent's work year will be 221 days and the position will receive the same salary increases and benefits as other certificated management employees. The report stated an annual base salary figure of 20528 as presented in the meeting report.
The board also reported the appointment of Ashley Heg to serve as director of financial services beginning July 1, 2024; Heg and her family were introduced at the meeting.
Both appointees were welcomed by board members and invited to begin work July 1. Board members repeated that formal approval of the employment agreements and final contract actions will occur at a regular board meeting where the terms will be presented in open session as required by Government Code 54953.
The announcements were presented as report-outs from closed session; the meeting record includes the oral summary of terms but did not contain a full roll-call vote tally for the closed-session appointment motions in the published transcript. The district indicated the employment agreements mirror prior contracts and that details beyond the oral summary will be available at the time of final action.
