Staff said an initial pool engineering report had been estimated at about $50,000; the scope was revised and narrowed to focus on the building exterior, structural capital repairs, and capital‑cost and annual operating estimates for the two alternatives. The revised scope was priced at about $30,000.
Carol Greg of Fit & Finn told the committee the organization would donate $15,000 toward the study. City staff and the finance director recommended using the remaining $15,000 from the council‑approved budget item to pay for the balance. Staff said the study would summarize findings, provide capital cost estimates and operating‑cost comparisons, and help council decisions about future steps, including potential referendums, bonds or other funding paths. If approved, staff estimated the consultant would take "a couple months" to complete the work.
Committee members thanked Fit & Finn for the donation and reached consensus to move the study recommendation to council for formal approval.
