Commissioners discussed that Pound’s council previously voted to keep its charter, noting that the retention had not been decided by referendum. Members said a public hearing could help gauge how residents feel and that some governance questions would be decided at upcoming elections.
The board also handled appointments and personnel items. Members agreed to table at least one district appointment until the April recess meeting so candidates can be confirmed; a nomination of Bobby Ring was announced for one district seat and members indicated they would follow up at the recess meeting.
Separately, a supervisor moved to approve a resolution certifying that only matters lawfully exempted from open‑meeting requirements were discussed in a recent closed meeting. The board approved that resolution.
No final boundary award was granted at the meeting; the public hearing on May 14 will be the next formal step on the Pound request.
