Board members noted several of the listed positions were already vacant or the incumbents had found other employment; the superintendent confirmed that "all but one of the people that are mentioned here... have found other employment and have employment now, or they chose not to get an appointment next year, and they resigned the position." A board member connected the budget pressure to recent state-level changes, saying, "This does all result from more or less the Senate bill 1 work" (Committee member S5).
The board voted 7-0 to approve the position reductions for the coming school year.
