Gasvoda said the Cass Lake Road Fire Association has completed interviews for a new fire chief and that an offer has been extended to a candidate, with a call scheduled to follow up.
Another commissioner reported attending a ditch meeting in Grygla and said they had been appointed to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Credentials Committee by "President Clark from Texas," a role that will continue through the next NACo presidential election.
Commissioner Carlson described the first meeting on the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan and thanked emergency manager Chris Muller for coordinating the effort. Carlson also summarized an Airport Authority case study from the Minnesota Electronic Aviation Network (MEAN) on early-stage electrified aircraft for cargo use, saying Bemidji "was rated number two in the state of Minnesota as a place that would be the most logical to have a hub," and urged keeping electrification needs in mind for airport infrastructure.
Carlson updated the board on the Northern Sky YMCA project, saying it has "met its last test" and is moving forward with only a small amount of fundraising left. He also listed routine committee work, including AMC legislative updates, jail design and operations meetings, Prime West finance and Joint Powers Board work and Minnesota Rural Counties legislative updates.
A motion to adjourn was made and seconded; the meeting ended following unanimous agreement.
