Miller Planning Associates' representative Martha Miller said, "AI is a tool that we use where we can," and described typical uses such as summarizing open-ended survey responses or meeting notes; she emphasized that code drafting and nuanced coastal work require professional judgment and community customization. The city attorney and planning staff will be involved in review during the process.
Vote and next steps: Council member Brownstone moved approval and the motion passed on roll call (Brownstone, Nagenghast, Johnson, Penrose).
