CPS seeks 10-vendor solar pool; pilot projects underway and student internship opportunities planned

Workforce & student opportunities: The capital program plans to integrate student internships and apprenticeship pathways with project contractors. Facilities staff said projects over $1M include workforce-development components and the district expects to place interns at pilot schools as the installations proceed.
What the pool does: Staff said pre-qualifying vendors will streamline procurement for future projects, help minimize costs through competition, and increase the district's ability to participate in state and federal clean-energy programs.
