A remote caller, Forino Lopez, identifying himself as a parent with deep family roots in East Los Angeles, urged the board to strengthen oversight of KIP charter operations. Lopez said he witnessed and experienced harassment by KIP staff (he named Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Dominguez) and said that "after a brief investigation, Kip SoCal found no evidence." He asked for a "more thorough investigation plus added oversight" to restore trust between KIP and the East LA community.
Isabelle Gonzalez criticized the board's responsiveness, saying board members "agree to vote and nominate amongst yourselves" and "do not listen to parents, students and school personnel," and told the board some parents oppose LGBTQ+ topics in schools.
