Board approves bridge inspection work orders and hears highway update on projects and trial pavement product

Supervisors approved two work orders for 2026 NSTM bridge inspections and received an update from Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert on Project 667, Project 647 scheduling, a July bridge rehabilitation start, county striping, summer crew hours and a trial of a Proseal rejuvenating product on County Road 8.
The Dodge County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved two work orders — No. 015 and No. 016 — under the county’s Master Professional Services Agreement for 2026 bridge inspections.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert reported crews are working on Project 667 on County Road F between County Roads 8 and 10 and are performing ditch cleanout, culvert repairs and pothole patching. He said crews have moved to summer hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Western Engineering Co., Inc. is slated to begin Project 647 (milling and overlay on County Road 2 on the west side of Dodge) next week rather than in September, and JMN Construction LLC is expected to start bridge rehabilitation at that location in July. Straight Line Striping Inc. will begin traffic line striping in the county next week.
Huppert also said the county will trial a rejuvenating product manufactured by Proseal on County Road 8 intended to restore oil and chemical constituents to asphalt to extend pavement life; he presented this as an experimental, cost-management measure.
The board authorized Chairman Missel to sign the work order documents. No contract amounts or completion dates for the bridge inspections or rehabilitation work were included in the meeting minutes.
