Floyd County Board of Assessors approves agenda, consent items, two property exemptions and 2026 audit list

The Floyd County Board of Assessors met April 8, 2026, in Assessors Meeting Room 5 at Government Plaza and handled routine business, approving the agenda and several administrative items by unanimous 2-0 votes.
Vice Chairman Robert Henderson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and asked Chief Appraiser Danny Womack to open in prayer. Member Bill Gilliland moved to approve the meeting agenda; Henderson seconded and the roll call vote was Henderson yes, Gilliland yes.
The board next adopted minutes for the caucus on March 10, 2026, and the regular meeting on March 11, 2026. Member Bill Gilliland moved approval and Vice Chairman Robert Henderson seconded; the motion carried 2-0.
The consent agenda (items 7a–7h) covered mobile home ACOs, personal property ACOs, real property ACOs, a motor vehicle appeal, and multiple Conservation Use Applications (CUVA) categories, including approved and transferred CUVA filings; some CUVA categories had no items to review. Member Bill Gilliland moved to approve the consent agenda and Henderson seconded. The roll call vote was Henderson yes, Gilliland yes.
Under new business, Vice Chairman Robert Henderson moved to approve three items: an exempt property application for Real Property I13Z096 (Life Church of Rome Inc.); an exempt property application for Real Property E13Z015 (Saviour Church of Ghana); and the 2026 Audit Selection List. Member Bill Gilliland seconded; the motion carried 2-0.
Hearing no further business, Vice Chairman Henderson adjourned the meeting. The minutes are signed by Secretary Lynn McElwee and show an approval date of May 13, 2026.
