Allegheny County Legislature approves broad slate of resolutions, schedules short-term rental hearing and honors retiring staffer

The Allegheny County Legislature approved a calendar of resolutions on Tuesday, advancing grant applications, budget transfers and contracts and setting a public hearing on a proposed local law to opt out of the state short‑term rental registry.

The meeting, presided over by the Chair, considered and carried a long list of measures from the Ways & Means and Human Services committees. Recognition: the Legislature used the meeting’s “for the good of the order” time to honor Tim Boyd on his last board meeting. The Chair praised Boyd’s institutional knowledge and savings to taxpayers, saying, “If the taxpayers could know how much money he has saved them through his good, good work in Allegheny County, they would be amazed.” Tim Boyd, who joined the board at the request of the chair, replied, “It is truly been my pleasure to serve,” and described the work as a collaborative effort.
