The Statewide Charter School Board met at 1:02 p.m. on April 13, 2026, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City and voted to approve the minutes of its March 9 regular meeting. Jared Buswell moved to approve the minutes and Damon Gardenhire seconded; the motion carried with Kitty Campbell, Bill Pearson, Courtney Anderson, Damon Gardenhire, Brian Shellem, Britni Tomcho and Jared Buswell recorded as voting yes and Amber Wise recorded as absent.
Chair Brian Shellem used his opening remarks to notify the board that member David Rutkauskas had announced his resignation and that board member Britni Tomcho will be leaving the board in coming months. Shellem also offered brief remarks reflecting on the Artemis II mission as an illustration of embracing uncertainty.
The approval of minutes and the announcements came early in a meeting that included presentations on a charter-school spotlight, working-group reports and a staff presentation of the annual charter school report. The board proceeded later in the afternoon to a closed executive session to consult with attorneys on pending litigation and adjourned at 3:12 p.m.
