"It is down $200,000...we have a new police car because every five years we buy a new police car," Sharp said while outlining the draft. She noted the process: after council completes the second and third readings the county requires the budget in July.
Council discussed scheduling a public hearing in June if all members are available so the second and third readings can be completed without holding a July council meeting. Staff committed to advertising the public hearing and ensuring required notices are posted before the hearing and remaining readings.
No final vote on the 2027 budget occurred May 12; the document will return for additional readings and a public hearing before final submission to Hamilton County.
