Redwood County Ditch Authority accepts petition to reroute CD 1202, appoints engineer and sets hearing

The Board acting as Ditch Authority accepted petitions to reroute and divert county ditch CD 1202 and to transfer CD 1012 Branch 4, appointed Bolton & Menk engineer Bill Helget as project manager, adopted preliminary findings and set a Jan. 20, 2026 public hearing.
Acting as the Redwood County Ditch Authority on Dec. 16, the Board accepted a petition to reroute and divert County Ditch 1202 and petitioned to transfer County Ditch 1012 Branch 4.
On motion by Wakefield and second by Van Hee the Board accepted the petitions, and on motion by Van Hee, second by Salfer the Board appointed Bill Helget of Bolton & Menk as project engineer and manager for the matter. The Board subsequently adopted preliminary findings and order and approved the engineer’s report. The Ditch Authority set a public hearing on the matter for Jan. 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
Those actions were taken by unanimous votes and were recorded as Ditch Authority proceedings in the meeting minutes. The actions begin the formal drainage review and hearing process required for ditch rerouting and transfer.
