Town staff told the council two items needed to be added to the current budget amendment: the corridor grant application for $24,001.10 (to be designated from B&C road funds) and a previously approved State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) contract that had not been listed. Council opened the public hearing on the amendments and heard questions about Class C road funds and other line items from residents.
Council then considered a motion to increase the town's annual contribution to the Zion Regional Collaborative from $1,650 to $2,000, citing the benefit of the collaborative's administrator in coordinating regional projects such as trails and grants. A councilmember moved to approve the increase, it was seconded, and a roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from present councilmembers, raising the town contribution to $2,000 per year.
Later the council moved to adopt Resolution 26-0513-02, the tentative budget for fiscal year 2026–27; after discussion of standard timing and the need for a final adoption in June, the council approved the tentative resolution by roll call. The council also approved Resolution 26-0513-01 (a mid-year amendment to the current fiscal year), approved the April expenditures and accepted the April 2026 financial statements, and approved minutes from the April 15 meeting, each action recorded by roll-call votes with affirmative votes recorded in the transcript.
What happens next: The council will receive and consider any further adjustments before the final budget adoption in June; staff invited residents and councilmembers to review budget documents with the town office for clarifications.
