Bonham council nominates Gene Wise to Fannin Central Appraisal District board

The Bonham City Council voted unanimously on Jan. 12 to nominate Gene Wise to fill a vacancy on the Fannin Central Appraisal District (FCAD) board for the 2026–2027 term.
Mayor John Burnett reported that four nominations had been submitted for five positions, creating a vacancy under the FCAD process. Under the procedure outlined in the agenda, each tax unit may submit a candidate for consideration; nominees must meet qualifications and sign the Section 6.0302 Acknowledgement of Duties. At the first regular FCAD meeting on Jan. 26 the newly sworn four members will choose the final board member from qualified nominees by majority vote.
Allen Sanderson moved to approve the resolution nominating Gene Wise; Ernie Quintana seconded and the council approved the nomination 6‑0.
