Board approves consent agenda, delegates WIAA authority and approves Maplewood K–8 contract; finance report notes bond planning
Summary
The Edmonds School District board approved a 17-item consent agenda, approved Resolution 26-07 delegating authority to the WIAA and Resolution 26-08 for the Maplewood K–8 space conversion (paid by the 2024 bond), and heard the March business-and-finance report which flagged bond-sale planning and a spreadsheet axis error.

The Edmonds School District Board approved a consent agenda of 17 routine items — including personnel and staff agreements, monthly bills and vouchers, vehicle surplus and ten field trips — by voice vote after a motion and second and brief clarifying remarks about item numbering.
During the business-and-finance report, Chris Culison presented fund summaries and year-to-date activity through March. He said general fund trends are consistent with the prior year and that the district is working with its bond advisor to plan the next sale under the 2024 bond authorization; Culison said the first sale was about $200,000,000 and the next sale is anticipated to be of a similar magnitude. He flagged several capital outliers (food service equipment and a maintenance vehicle) and explained a chart axis error caused by a spreadsheet entry that showed a "negative 20,000,000," which will be corrected in the board materials and minutes.
The board considered two new-business resolutions and approved both by voice vote. Resolution 26-07 delegates authority to the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) as the district participates in WIAA sports (an annual procedural action). Resolution 26-08 approved a public works contract for the Maplewood K–8 space conversion project; the chair noted the project is paid for by the 2024 bond authorization.
