Commission recommends waivers and conditional approvals for Haymaker Park and school‑field turf projects

Boker said most technical comments have been resolved and that remaining work centers on agency reviews and utility coordination.
Because Haymaker Park will not have field lighting, the applicant requested and the commission recommended waiving the lighting plan requirement for that site. For the school‑site turf work the applicant requested survey and easement waivers tied to the limited work area; the commission recommended those waivers as well. Staff and the applicant agreed that final approval should be contingent on obtaining Westmoreland Conservation District (MPDES/soil conservation) clearance and resolving a few outstanding details such as inspection access to stormwater outlets.
The commission recommended approval of the waivers and forwarded both site plans to council with conditions that the conservation district approvals and minor technical items be satisfied.
