Franklin County finance committee approves routine reports, contracts and budget amendments

Franklin County’s finance committee on May 14 approved a set of routine items on its agenda, including meeting minutes, the March 2026 sales tax report, the financial director’s report, multiple contracts and budget amendments.

The committee opened with a unanimous vote to approve the April 2026 finance minutes after a motion from mister Curry and a second from doctor Holman. Members then approved the March sales tax report (moved by mister Schulz; seconded by mister Curry) and the financial director’s report on pages cited in the packet.

On the consent and action items the committee approved a contract for the sheriff’s office with TDOT for pickup vehicles covering 2027–28 (pages 28–37), a school cafeteria contract referenced in the packet as with “School Cafe,” and county general budget amendments (pages 18–27) after staff highlighted textual revisions. The committee also approved a multi-year elevator and county library maintenance agreement with the vendor that services courthouse equipment, approved the listed notaries, and noted a solid waste surplus equipment item. All motions carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition in the meeting transcript.
