Staff noted nearby homeowners would lose on-street visitor parking and that the committee could revisit the decision if problems arise.
The committee also debated whether to ask the Village Board to reinstate Johnson HealthTech’s portion of the bike/ped path repaving as a change order to the 2026 streets project. Staff reported that Wolf Construction said it would honor its original option price if the Village Board agreed to a change order; staff discussed bid history and potential escalation in future years. After members exchanged views on short-term patching versus full repaving and on timing relative to a larger Commerce Park reconstruction, the committee moved and seconded a recommendation to forward the Johnson HealthTech repaving option to the Village Board; the committee reported the motion passed 3–2.
