Waunakee CDA conditionally approves Housing Betterment Fund request, excludes garden shed

The Waunakee Community Development Authority voted to approve a Housing Betterment Fund application with a condition restricting the reimbursement to duplex-related work only and excluding the garden shed.

When the recorded session resumed, a trustee moved to approve the request "subject to the 50% of the total amount to be spent on the duplex to exclude the garden shed portion of it," specifying the reimbursement would cover 50% of eligible duplex work up to $10,000. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair announced, "Ayes have it."

Committee members commented on practical verification: one trustee asked whether the contractor would confirm the shed roof cost was under a certain threshold; staff and trustees discussed options for ensuring reimbursement funds are applied to the intended project when contractors finance work.
