CHSD 218 honors Richards High students and coaches; softball coach marks 800th win

At its May 13 meeting the CHSD 218 Board of Education recognized Richards High School students and staff for state-level performing-arts achievements and honored varsity softball coach Julie Folliard for her 800th career win.
Dr. Jacobson invited Mike Badger and the Richards High contest play cast forward and read a resolution commending the cast and production team for finishing fourth at the IHSA High School Drama Festival and for multiple All-State mentions. He also recognized the Richards group interpretation ensemble for finishing second at the IHSA state final and listed directors and students who received All-State honors.
Dr. Jacobson announced that Richards varsity softball coach Julie Folliard recorded her 800th career win on April 16 and noted her long coaching record, regional and sectional championships, and Hall of Fame recognition. Folliard thanked the board and credited players, returning staff coaches and the wider school community: "I would like to start with telling you what an honor it is to be here tonight," she said, and she acknowledged the many coaches, families and staff who supported the program.
The board moved to adopt the resolutions and commendations; the motion carried by recorded affirmation of members present.
