Separately, the board approved recommended changes to how athletic and extracurricular groups handle fundraising. Board members and staff discussed timing for implementation, saying the district intends to meet with activity directors and principals before the school year and again in August to explain the changes. That motion also carried by recorded affirmation of the same members present (5–0).
The meeting also approved routine consent items including minutes, the district strategic plan and consolidated district plan for 2026–27, appointment of a hearing officer, and authorization of expenditures; those consent items were approved together by recorded affirmation (5–0).
The board scheduled a revisit of the student Code of Conduct in June for further review; no final action on the code occurred at this meeting. The board then moved into closed session to discuss personnel, litigation and a student disciplinary case.
