The board approved purchase of two 2024 Ford F‑154 4x4 crew cab pickup trucks from Gangres Ford under the State of Connecticut contract at $45,369.70 each, for a total of $90,739.40. Tim Nolan, superintendent of public services, said the pickups will replace high‑mileage foreman vehicles essential to daily field supervision and operations.
The board also approved purchase of a 2023 Ford Escape all‑wheel‑drive vehicle from Gangres Ford at $31,109.10 under the same state contract. Nolan said the Escape will support additional staff and replace older Crown Victoria units previously used by the health department.
