University and student government urge narrow reading of athletic-fee restriction; committee adopts amended language

After testimony and brief Q&A, the committee adopted the senate-only position on athletic fees as amended to clarify that facilities primarily used by the general student body should not be treated the same as facilities restricted to student athletes. Members described the change as an attempt to protect sustainability of athletics while safeguarding general campus access and student-voted fees.
