Paul Prine introduced himself and told the council he is running for Mobile County Sheriff. Connie Middleton of 2nd Street asked the council to address maintenance needs on her road; Mayor Mark Barlow said staff are looking into the issue following another citizen’s complaint.
Gary Poole asked whether cameras could be installed after he said dirt went missing from a high school coach’s property; Mayor Barlow asked Police Chief Troy Willcutt to check into camera options. Poole also stated he bought a fireworks stand from a private seller and was working with Building Inspector George Fralic to ensure it meets code.
Kevin Smith of Park Street requested cleanup or enforcement at a property at 5669, saying the yard and shed are in disrepair. The minutes record mayoral direction to staff to follow up on these complaints; the council did not take formal votes on these public-comments items during the meeting.
