Satsuma council approves $127,694.24 in bills, schedules workshop and OKs engineering agreement

At its March 3, 2026 regular meeting at City Hall, the Satsuma City Council unanimously approved payment of $127,694.24 in city bills, scheduled a March 10 workshop to discuss parks and other city business, accepted a staff resignation and approved two resolutions including an agreement with Driven Engineering Inc.

The council voted without dissent on a series of routine and administrative items. Councilmember Jake O’Rear moved to pay the bills in the amount of $127,694.24; Councilmember Bert Taylor seconded and the motion carried with all voting “aye.” Councilmember Randy Little moved to schedule a workshop on March 10 at 5:30 p.m.; Councilmember Shirley Presnall seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.

On personnel business the council accepted the resignation of Ralston Sterling, PSWI, in good standing after a motion from Councilmember Presnall and a second from Councilmember Taylor. The council also approved Resolution 2026-03-01 to appoint George H. “Buster” Mason to the Board of Adjustments; the motion to appoint was moved by Councilmember Presnall and seconded by Councilmember Jake O’Rear and passed unanimously.

Councilmember Randy Little moved, and Councilmember Jake O’Rear seconded, adoption of Resolution 2026-03-02 — an agreement with Driven Engineering Inc. — which the council approved unanimously. Mayor Mark Barlow earlier noted that Driven Engineering’s Daniel Overstreet was present at a recent ATRIP-II grant kickoff and available to answer questions about upcoming transportation work.

With no further business, Councilmember Jason Skelton moved to adjourn, Councilmember Randy Little seconded and the meeting adjourned at 7:12 p.m. The mayor said additional detail on the GOMESA grant appraisal will be shared at the next council meeting.
