Board counsel: mediation in Ajax claim failed; litigation possible

A trustee (S4) stated on the record that he is "1000 percent behind going ahead with a lawsuit against Ajax," placing his preference for litigation on the record. Counsel also briefed the board on a separate baseball dispute in Islamorada, saying the situation is not moving quickly and staff have supplied a status update and reply to the district’s counterpart.
Next steps: Counsel will complete his merits versus cost report and return to the board with a recommendation. Trustees did not vote on litigation at this meeting.
