We are not in a position to share any additional information at this time.” The motion to authorize the chair to negotiate was moved by Smith and seconded by Feller and passed unanimously, including the two student votes.
The board described the superintendent search as a “robust process” and said it will notify the school community when negotiations are complete. No contract terms, candidate name or timeline for a public announcement were disclosed at the meeting.
The board’s action authorizes staff-level negotiations only; members repeatedly emphasized that a formal announcement will follow completion of those talks. The board did not take a vote to ratify a hire at this meeting.
The superintendent search will remain on the board’s agenda for future updates; the chair said the district will “notify the school community as soon as we’re able to do so.”
