Board approves MSBA policy updates and staff horizontal advancements
Summary
The board approved second readings of two MSBA policy bundles and approved presented staff horizontal advancements; two additional MSBA policy items were given a first reading and returned for future consideration.
At its Oct. 15 meeting, the Belton School District No. 124 Board of Education approved multiple policy items and personnel actions.
The board approved the second reading of MSBA policy set '2025c' (which includes BBBA, IGBI, IGCD, IGCDA, IGD, IGDAA and JFCD) and the second reading of MSBA policy set '2024b' (including FFA, GBEBC, IND, JOH and KH). The motions were moved and seconded and recorded as approved by the board.
Separately, the board approved horizontal advancements for staff listed in the packet: Andrew Collins, Tabitha Babcock and Marshall Noble were named as included in the advancement action. The board also received a first reading of two additional MSBA policy items related to technology and data governance (EHB and EHBC) and agreed to review those before a second reading in November.
No contested amendments were recorded during the meeting and the moves were presented as routine approvals. The board will return to the first-read items for a formal vote at the November meeting.
