Waynesville R-VI previews draft 2026—2031 CSIP after months of stakeholder input

District leaders presented a draft of the Waynesville R-VI Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) for the 2026—2031 cycle and described a multi-step process of surveys, focus groups and stakeholder meetings used to build the plan.

Mrs. Bales told the board that the CSIP serves as the district's roadmap for priorities and resource allocation. She summarized the 2022—2026 cycle's completed action steps and identified items recommended for extension into the next cycle. The draft plan was developed using input from more than 150 stakeholders, including administrators, staff, parents, community members and students; Mrs. Bales said the district will present a user-friendly one-page summary and dashboard-style performance measures to make progress easier to track.

Key priority areas emerging from the process are student success; personnel and staffing; facilities, safety, resources and technology; and community engagement. Mrs. Bales said the district aims to increase awareness and use of mental-health resources by five percentage points annually as measured by parent, student and staff surveys, and that the work on performance measures remains ongoing.

"The Waynesville R-VI school district will become a school community where students are empowered to lead with integrity, serve, and make a meaningful difference in the world," Mrs. Bales said as she read the draft vision statement. Administration will return to the board with a finalized CSIP recommendation after completing remaining action-step wording and the proposed performance dashboard.
