The Waynesville R-VI facilities team told the board that construction on Liberty Elementary is progressing on schedule and on budget and outlined traffic impacts and timelines for related roadway work.
Mr. Harrison presented images and a status update showing roof decking in place on the classroom wing and steel erected for the commons area; he said concrete pours for first- and second-floor classroom wings were underway and that guardrail installation along retaining walls should be completed that week. "I'm happy to report that currently Liberty Elementary is still on budget and on schedule," Mr. Harrison said.
Harrison also described the planned Tee Highway improvements adjacent to the Liberty campus. Grading work is underway; lane reductions are planned for the week of spring break (March 16—20), when the highway will be reduced to a single lane, and intermittent single-lane daytime closures are expected March 23 through April 3. Access from Oak Ridge Drive to Tee Highway will be closed during March 16—04, with alternate access provided via Long Drive. Harrison said both traffic lanes will not be closed simultaneously and crews will avoid peak travel times where feasible.
On the administration building renovation, Harrison outlined a phased schedule: Phase 1 (conference and training spaces) targeted for substantial completion by July 2026, Phase 2 (office area half) by November 2026, and Phase 3 (remaining office area) by May 2027. He said the administration building project is currently on budget; some phasing adjustments were noted but overall substantial completion remains on track.
Board members asked for clarification on the Tee Highway work and turning-lane scope; Harrison confirmed the work will add a continuous center turning lane and that appropriate signage and flashing school-zone equipment will be installed. The district said it used MoDOT traffic data to schedule crews to minimize disruption.
