The Portland Planning Board on April 28 voted to table the hybrid public hearing on the application for 221 Congress Street until the board’s May 12 meeting. The item, which concerns an application by Greenmars Real Estate Services to facilitate construction of a seven‑story mixed‑use building with residential units and ground‑floor retail in a B2 Business Zone, was not heard and was scheduled to return to a later meeting at the applicant’s request.
At the meeting the chair and staff explained the workshop for 410 Auburn Street would not be held and that the 221 Congress Street hearing would be continued to a date certain. A motion to table the public hearing was made, a friendly amendment established the May 12 date, and the motion was seconded; the board approved the tabling with no further debate.
The board set no additional conditions when tabling the item, and Matt (the clerk) confirmed the May 12 date. The hearing will be listed on the board’s agenda for the May 12 meeting when the board will revisit any matters raised in the application.
