Land Bank updates: Davis Pines survey nearly complete; appraisals and field trips scheduled

At its May 13 meeting the Portland Land Bank received updates on parcel work, appraisals and upcoming field trips.
Chair reported that survey work for Davis Pines is essentially complete and that pins will be placed shortly. An appraisal firm has the survey and told staff it expects to take about 11 weeks to finish the appraisal, though appraiser workload may extend that timeline.
"We're about ... a couple months out of actually getting the appraisal," Chair said, adding that the appraisal would cover the whole parcel (including wetlands) and that the commission had agreed to proceed with a full appraisal rather than a narrowed upland-only valuation.
Commissioners discussed other parcels (including Murray Street and Stroudwater-area properties), the need for surveys before or alongside appraisals, and the city's role: staff said the city had already approved funding and started appraisal work in February for some parcels and that commission members should check in with the city project manager about timing.
Staff confirmed an organized, public field trip for commissioners on June 10 to visit Redlawn and Davis Pines; the trip will be advertised and members of the public may attend but must provide their own transportation to the sites. Commissioners agreed to monitor appraisal progress and to consider follow-up steps depending on appraisal results.
