The Montour County board on April 28 declined a $7,500 Tourism Fund grant request for a Together First/America 250 Honor Wall that would be displayed at the BBQ & Brew Music Festival at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
Adam Roberts presented the grant proposal, saying the wall would recognize Montour County veterans and that the funds would also support an autism/first-responders presentation. Mr. Lynn said he struggled to see how the request would support tourism and noted the board previously declined to fund a pickleball project that had moved from Montour to Columbia County.
Ms. Dressler moved to deny the request and Mr. Lynn seconded. On called vote, Ms. Dressler and Mr. Lynn voted in favor of denying the grant; Mr. Finn voted against the denial, and the motion to deny carried.
The minutes record the board’s decision but do not detail alternative funding sources or any follow-up steps for the applicant.
