Lorain High School Titans esports team honored by council after state championship

Lorain City Council on Monday adopted a resolution honoring the Lorain High School Titans esports team for capturing the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championship.
Councilmembers praised the team’s performance, noting the squad went undefeated in group play and won the final by a 2–0 sweep. "These are moments that we all do this community," one councilmember said in congratulating the students.
Coach Littmann thanked the community for its support, described the players’ emotional resilience and said the team will pursue an invitation to a national tournament in July. "One of the things that makes this group special is...their composure," Coach Littmann said, and added the team is fundraising to make the trip.
Council presented the athletes and coaches with a copy of the resolution and invited applause from those in attendance. Council members used the moment to highlight school pride and encouraged support for an upcoming school levy tied to broader school funding concerns.
The resolution was presented during the meeting’s opening business and received unanimous support.
